Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Amoled.in (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Amoled.in mobile application for iOS and Android (the “App”) and our website at https://amoled.in (the “Site”). Together these are referred to as the “Services”.
By using our Services you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services.
1. Who We Are
- Developer / Data Controller: [YOUR LEGAL NAME OR REGISTERED COMPANY NAME]
- Address: [YOUR FULL POSTAL ADDRESS]
- Contact email: [email protected]
- Website: https://amoled.in
You may contact us at the email address above with any question or request regarding this policy or your personal data. We aim to respond within 30 days.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information (only if you sign in)
The App works without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the following from your Google account and store it on our servers at backend.amoled.in:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your Google account identifier
We use this to create and identify your account, sync your favourites and downloads across devices, and restore your purchases. We do not receive or store your Google password.
2.2 Purchase Information
If you buy a subscription or one-time upgrade, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never receive or store your card number, billing address, or other payment details. We receive only your subscription status and a transaction identifier so we can unlock premium features.
2.3 Information Collected Automatically
- Advertising identifier: IDFA on iOS (only if you grant permission — see Section 6) and Advertising ID on Android.
- Push subscription identifier: a device-level push token and subscription ID generated by OneSignal, used to deliver notifications you have opted into.
- Notification topic tags: the wallpaper categories you subscribe to, so we only notify you about content you asked for.
- Device and technical information: device model, operating system version, language, region, screen resolution, app version, and network type.
- Usage and diagnostic data: screens viewed, wallpapers viewed and downloaded, session length, crash logs, and performance data.
- Approximate location: country or region inferred from your IP address. We do not collect precise or GPS location.
2.4 Photos You Choose to Use
The App can apply an AMOLED effect to a photo you select. Photo selection and processing happen entirely on your device. Your photo library is never uploaded to our servers, and we do not scan or index your library. We request photo library access only to (a) let you pick an image you explicitly choose, and (b) save wallpapers you download back to your library.
2.5 Website Log Files
Our hosting provider maintains standard server logs recording IP address, browser type, Internet Service Provider, date and time stamp, referring and exit pages, and click counts. This is used for security, site administration, and aggregate traffic analysis.
2.6 What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, SMS messages, call logs, calendar data, health data, biometric data, or financial account details.
3. Permissions Used by the App
| Permission | Why we request it | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Photo Library (read) | To let you pick a photo you want to convert to an AMOLED wallpaper. Processing is on-device only. | Optional |
| Photo Library (add) | To save wallpapers you download into your photo library. | Optional |
| Notifications | To alert you about new wallpapers in categories you follow. | Optional |
| App Tracking Transparency (iOS) | To ask your permission before your IDFA is used for personalized advertising. | Optional |
| Internet / Network access | To load wallpapers, deliver updates, and serve advertisements. | Required |
You can revoke any optional permission at any time in your device settings. Declining a permission only disables the related feature; the rest of the App continues to work.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Services and deliver wallpaper content;
- To create and manage your account and sync favourites across your devices;
- To unlock and restore premium features you have purchased;
- To send notifications about categories you have chosen to follow;
- To serve advertising, including personalized advertising where you have consented;
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve stability and performance;
- To configure features remotely and roll out changes safely (Firebase Remote Config);
- To understand aggregate usage trends and improve the App;
- To respond to your support requests;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- To comply with legal obligations.
Legal Bases (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: consent (personalized advertising, push notifications, analytics); contractual necessity (account creation, purchase delivery); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, crash diagnostics, basic service operation); and legal obligation where required by law. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
5. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed below, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
| Provider | Purpose | Data shared | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Advertising | Advertising identifier, IP address, device information, ad interaction data | policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Usage analytics | App instance ID, device information, in-app events | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and stability reporting | Crash logs, device state, app version, installation UUID | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Firebase Remote Config | Remote feature configuration | Installation ID, app version, device language and region | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Sign-In | Optional authentication | Name, email address, Google account identifier | policies.google.com/privacy |
| OneSignal | Push notifications | Push token and subscription ID, device information, category tags | onesignal.com/privacy_policy |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | App distribution and in-app purchases | Subscription status and transaction identifier (payment details never reach us) | apple.com/legal/privacy · policies.google.com/privacy |
The App also uses Kingfisher to cache wallpaper images on your device. It stores images locally only and transmits no personal data.
We may disclose information where required to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will notify you before your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Advertising Identifiers and Cookies
Third-party advertising vendors, including Google, use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior use of our Services and other apps and websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our Services and other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of participating third-party vendors at optout.aboutads.info.
6. Your Advertising Choices
- iOS: The App uses Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework and will ask your permission before using your IDFA for tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. You can change your answer at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.
- Android: You can reset or delete your Advertising ID under Settings → Google → Ads, and enable “Opt out of Ads Personalization”.
- EEA/UK users: We present a consent prompt (Google UMP) before serving personalized ads. You can change your choice at any time from the App’s Settings screen.
- Website: You can disable cookies through your browser settings.
7. Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active, and permanently deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Analytics and crash data: retained for up to 14 months, then deleted or anonymized.
- Push subscription data: retained until you disable notifications or delete the App.
- Support emails: retained for up to 24 months after the issue is resolved.
- Server logs: retained for up to 90 days.
We may retain limited records for longer where required by law or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
8. Account and Data Deletion
You may delete your account and associated data at any time:
- In the App: open the side menu and go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all data associated with it.
- By email: write to [email protected] with the subject “Delete My Account”, from the email address linked to your account.
- Web form: https://amoled.in/delete-account
What is deleted: your name, email address, Google account identifier, saved favourites, and push subscription record — permanently, within 30 days.
What is retained: anonymized, aggregated analytics that can no longer identify you, and transaction records we are legally required to keep for tax and accounting purposes (typically 7 years).
Uninstalling the App does not by itself delete data already stored on our servers. Please use one of the methods above.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage over the Internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, transfers are made under Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, or under the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction (such as 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
The App is not enrolled in Google Play’s Designed for Families programme or Apple’s Kids Category, and does not target children.
12. Your Privacy Rights
12.1 EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR)
You have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict or object to processing, receive your data in a portable format, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
12.2 California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, used, and disclosed; to delete personal information; to correct inaccurate information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing an advertising identifier with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising may qualify as “sharing” under the CPRA. To opt out, use the advertising controls in Section 6 or email us.
12.3 India (DPDP Act)
If you are in India, you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data, to nominate another person to exercise your rights, and to grievance redressal. Contact us at [email protected].
12.4 Other Jurisdictions
Residents of regions with comparable privacy laws, including Brazil (LGPD) and Canada (PIPEDA), may have similar rights. Contact us to exercise them.
To make any request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
13. Third-Party Links and Content
The Services may link to third-party websites or content. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we have no control over their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party service you visit.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice in the App or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
